Tenerife is the biggest and most populous of the Canary Islands. Having an extremely varied landscape, climatically it has two extremely different parts which are separated by volcano El Taide.

The warmer and more sunny South has many sandy beaches, while cooler North is a more green and humid area. The most well-known beach South of the island, where the sun attracts tourists throughout the year, is Playa de las Americas.
